Susan's Story

I was born and raised in California. I went to Escalona Elementary, McNally Jr. High and finnished freshman year at Neff High School. I lived on South Springford Rd in La Mirada and walked to school with the neighbor kids every day. I was also very shy so I didn't get to know many of you very well. My best friend, Karen Concannon, lived right across the street from me on Crosswoods Rd. After 9th grade, my family moved to Connecticut where I have lived ever since, which is probably why those of you who graduaduated from Neff don't remember me. You might remember that I have was the one with the twin brother, Steven, though. I graduated Wolcott High School in 1971, got into drama and music but ultimately went to school for nursing and have ben a nurse for over 30 years. I have been married to my husband, Roy, for 32 years! We are more in love now than when we first met, if you can believe it!!! He is my best friend; not to mention a good cook (chef, really) and handy with almost everything! He's the best HVAC guy in his field, to boot! He's also taught me a lot over the years and is a very wise counselor that I appreciate very much. I thank God every day for him!!! Roy and I are the parents of 2 wonderful young people; a son, Branden, who is serving our country in the Navy. He and his wife, April, have a darling little girl, our granddaughter, Guilia; a precious little gift! They live in Jacksonville, FL, near the base where he is stationed. Our Daughter, Lauren, was married to her sweetheart...Expand for more
this past July. He is a airline pilot for a regional company and she is a college student studying for a career in communications/education. They reside outside Philly in a lovely little suburb! Both are smart and VERY talented, not to mention adorable, good-looking, creative.....(am I bragging too much?) Since the kids moved out, people ask if I have "empty nest" syndrome. My answer is "How can it be empthy? We're still in it!" We have been remodeling out home room by room and just finnished our kitchen, toping it off with a beautiful new LG french door refigerator!! I love it! We love traveling around, visiting the kids where they live. It's great to see the next generation blossom and grow. God is SO good! Life is good.....and we are very blessed! My passion in later years is health and fitness, teaching people how to get fit, stay fit, protect their health or regain it if it is lost. It has actualy become my own consulting business! There is nothing mkore rewarding than to see the light come back into someone's eyes when they realize they can do it....there's hope for them. Email me if you have health questions or concerns; I work with an amazing nutritional physician who has the fruit on the tree, if you know what I mean. We deal with everything fropm cancer, diabetes, heart disease, just to name a few of the over 70 chronic degenerative diseases; and don't forget fibromyalgia! Though life has been good, I know the best is yet to come for all of us! Blessings to all in this new year 2010!!!
