Life
Hi all....I am the mother of 2 grown children---a daughter and a son and "Oma" to five beautiful grandchildren. I am married to a precious and one-of-a-kind man, James. We met online--on an email matchmaking service here in Houston. It works for some (like my daughter and two of my closest friends) and it worked for us!! (I have been online since 1987 when QLink and PCLink first came out!) I came to Texas to go to college (Baylor). Well, you all may remember me as being the "Queen of Foreign Languages" as someone wrote in my yearbook. My plan was to get my teaching degree in foreign languages, but, somehow or other, life interfered, as it is wont to do, and I became a bride and a mother instead. Along the way, I became a certified childbirth educator and an RN in labor and delivery. I delivered babies for over 15 years. I totally loved my work!! It is a blessing to watch...Expand for more
new life come into this world...and it is 1000x more so to actually be able to "catch" a baby. An allergy to natural latex rubber sidelined my career. It has been very hard to give up a passion that I have loved for such a long time. Nowadays I am very much into genealogy, counted cross stitch, as well as other crafts. I also love to design websites. We have two dogs-Heidi and Willow, both beagles. They both are dolls and help me a lot with the empty nest feeling! I have been home to New York just once since 1977 (in 2001 for the Class of 1971's 30th reunion) so I am very thankful that we have web sites like this one here to get in touch with others who meant so much to us in our past! We must always remember that we were blessed to have been in the school district and school that we were in! We didn't know it at the time we were in school, but we sure had it good back then!
