Susan's Story
After I last saw many of you, I attended L.A. Valley College for two years and then transferred in 1973 to UCLA to finish my B.A. in music in 1975. After that I stayed at UCLA for two more years to get a master's degree in library science. In 1977 there were not many jobs for librarians in colleges, so I became a special librarian, archivist and records manager in the corporate world for the next twenty years. I burrowed into the computer/information science end of the library profession, studied systems analysis and designed library-related software.
In 1998, changed gears and got a job as a library media teacher in a science and technology magnet high school, and I got three teaching credentials that were required for that job. Those of you who remember me as a bookworm will be pleas...Expand for more
ed to know that is still the case. I retired from teaching in June of 2019.

I have not had much time recently to play the saxophone, but plan on getting back to that soon. In the meantime, I have enjoyed doing a good bit of singing primarily in a choir over the years. It would be nice to hear from the Burroughs band alumni from the years of 1968 through the early 70s. Also, it would be nice to hear from any L.A. Valley College music alumni. The early seventies were a very good period for studying music at Valley with the great faculty and really talented students who were there at the time. Also, I want to say hello to the former students of Fair Avenue Elementary School from back in the sixties. I never got to see how everyone's story ended up when my family moved to Burbank.
