Susan's Story

1/2010 Who knew? I have both the kids home with me again. Both working and going to school.Economics being what they are...Community College then back to University. YAY! Resolutions this Year more parties and more chocolate as life is short. :) 1/2009 Updated Entry: OMG! Since my last entry a lot has happened. My daughter is at college. OK... So tell me why would a child who lives at the beach go to school in Ohio? OK, not as cold as Minnesota but working on it. Oh yeah, that Astrophysics and French degree. I know its worth it. Anyway these days I am just doing the working thing. All you St.John's folks, I haven't jumped ship by working at Los Robles OK? I am just adding to my work experience even though the some of the Docs have given me a bit hard time about it. You know how that can be sometimes. Remember...It's all good! OK for the folks in Minnesota. I miss the people, I guess not so rush, rush. Anyway, I miss the spring, don't miss late August with the bugs, sometimes I miss the fall leaves and only occasionally miss the winter. We have snow in California but you have to drive to it or Disneyland version of snow, OK, ok, It tastes like soap foam a bit... All in All life is Totally Good. Initial Entry:Although I only went to Lincoln High during my 10th grade, I have many memories of that year. I was in the band and still have my ticket from our trip to the INDY 500. I know I wasn't a high profile student and probably not the best in the grade category. I did participate in drama and sadly only used my high school training one time playing "Lucy Ball" for a fund r...Expand for more
aiser for our local library. I was the youngest and only girl of the Salmela Family. Do you remember my brothers, Terry, Dan, Tom or Nathan? I finally made it to California with my family. The rest of my immediate family moved to Las Vegas. Sadly only my brother Tom and I are left of the kids. Terry died at 42 of a heart attack. Dan died after someone hit his electric wheelchair outside of a DAV convention in Laughlin. Nathan is presumed dead as he has been MIA for the last 25+ years. I have a great daughter who graduated this year and now is at Ohio Wesleyan University with her majors currently planned to French and Astrophysics. She is the joy of my life and it be worth watching her make life and hopefully a better world for everyone. I work as an RN Case Manager at two of our local hospital so I try to keep busy with the in famous "Empty Nest ". I've lived here so long that Bloomington seems so far away. Yet some of my classmates are still there in my memory. Karen Dandburg and Karen Nygaard, Paula Seifert, Cindy Penroy, Tim Olsen to name a few. Just know that I miss you all but not the snow(I visit it rarely)and you just never know where life is going to take you. It day it might bring me back to Blomington Cool! I updated my profile and my life keeps getting shorter all the time. LOL... Oh well. Hope to hear from some of you soon. :) Sue 1/2010 If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to habitat 4 humanity and coastal conservation, then spend the rest on sending the bean&Roy child to college, caregiver for my mom and oh and pay off ALL my bills YAY!.
