Susan's Story
Got B.A. from SMU in ‘94, then spent 6 mths in England with future husband. Met him thru SMU-in-Oxford summer program. He is from New Zealand and an avid runner. He's sweet and smart; we laugh a lot. Have done lots of traveling through Europe. I stay close to home with my animals now, but we’ve started RV trips. My Valentine's present in 2002 was a trip to the Wolf Rescue Center where we actually played with rescued (115 lb) wolf cubs. (This lead to me spending the entire summer with the wolves after the facility had to evacuated and rebuilt due to wildfires). Andy has been self-employed since 2000. We married in '95, no kids; moved to Colorado in 2001 and love it here. I haven't worked since 2000. Have had lots of animals. Adopted a rescued PMU foal from Canada in Nov.2002. sidered getting into forensic DNA technology, but never did. I loved college. High school was awful for me, but the 'real world' has been great since I met my husband. I never thought I'd find someone who could be as silly as I am and still be a grown up. I've done things I never thought I'd do - like bungee jumping at 35!!! Discovering ice hockey and loving every season! Cruising to Alaska repeatedly! Finally seeing Iceland even if Covid slowed me down! Figuring out diesel trucks and RVs! We try to enjoy life. Aging has been challenging, but mostly because of losing older relatives. We get creaky occasionally ourselves and that’s okay. We’ve had some wonderful dogs and my biggest regret could very well be that I spent my first 32 years with only cats and no dogs. What was I thinking?! It would be great to have a few more wonderful pups before I leave the planet. And hopefully we’ll get to Finland and see the Northern Lights before 2024 ends.
