Susan's Story
Life
Hi everyone! After High School, I went to a church college in Rexburg, Idaho (Brigham Young University - Idaho) and graduated with my Associate in '87. Then I moved to Milwaukee and worked at the University and graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 90.
I met my huband, Eric in Idaho and we've been together since '85. He grew up there and then moved out here in '88 (to Milwaukee area) and we've been here ever since. We got married in '92. Eric is not only my best friend, but he's a super hubby and dad. He works as an industrial crane mechanic for American State Equipment. He's also active in the church and a scout leader.
We have 2 sons - Brett (b.1995) and Scotty (b.2000 - born 9/11 - the year BEFORE the twin towers attack). Brett is a great, outgoing kid involved in orchestra, skatboarding, basketball, scouting, speech and drama - busy kid! Scotty is grade school and I volunteer in the classroom all the time. He's a great little guy - and so hilarious!
We've lived in the Milwaukee area (suburbs) since '87. I worked at UW-Milwaukee as a program assistant for about 4 years. Then I got a job at the at the Medical College of Wisconsin working as...Expand for more
a special assistant and financial coordinator at the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry and later I worked in Clinic Administration. I worked doing grants, budgeting, research and clinic planning/expansion. A major employment cut brought me back to UW-Milwaukee where I worked for a year with the Vice Chancellor as his Executive Assistant.
When Scotty was born, I finished my contract with the University and now I'm home to raise my kids. Now I work from home doing some web design and teaching classes. I also work with my Dad's company (TownHall Software).
I'm also active in my church, scrapbooking, volunteering at my kids' schools and a ton of other stuff.
We travel west often to visit in-laws. I still go to Hayward often since Dad still lives there. My mom passed away suddenly in '95 (which was so hard for all of us!) and my dad is now re-married to a wonderful woman, Debbie (no - not the one at Price Rite!!). She is amazing. Dad and Debbie are doing great. My sister (Carrie) is married with 4 girls and now the oldest is married and had a daughter of her own. My sister is a grandma! Unreal!
