Susan's Story
I don't have a recent now picture, the one above was taken a year age, I have since lost 60lbs.. I married my loving husband, Brian Davis, who is also a graduate of Fortuna Union High, in 2000, in McKinleyville, CA. We raised my nephew John together. He is now 18, wow, where does the time go?! My husband Brian and I own Brian's Auto Repair in Rio Dell, Ca., we also rent U-Haul equipment. We do a lot of volunteer work in our community. I am the President of the Rio Dell - Scotia Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rio Dell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Treasurer for the Eel River Valley Babe Ruth, we also are the snack bar managers. I am on the City of Rio Dell Planning Commission, as well as the City of Rio Dell Parks and Rec Commission. We also take care of Brian's disabled parents. We stay very busy, I wouldn't have it any other way!! I love my life and wouldn't change it for anything!
As for growing up, my mom always moved us from one place to the other. I lived in Olympia, Tumwater, Tenino and Rainier, Washington. My favorite place to live was in Tenino, WA. in the country by the river. We spent many summer days at the river. That is where I m...Expand for more
et my first love Sky, he lived with his dad in a cabin by the river. It is also where he broke my heart, underneath the bridge. Met another boy back then, he came to visit me, and this dog followed him. I remember my mother getting angry about it and she chased him and the dog off the property with a broom. Never saw him again. His name was David. Hope all is well David!! Sorry about mom!!
I loved visiting my grandmother in Olympia. We stayed with her in her trailer for awhile. That is where I would go ride the most beautiful Tennessee Walkers with a good friend!! I remember a very big house (still under construction) with an indoor pool, and rooms everywhere!! A brother who liked to bug us when I stayed over. But we loved to ride whenever we could! We would ride on my aunt and uncles 10 acre property. I never felt more free than when I was riding horses. That is when I rode bareback for the first time, scared silly, horses ran into a limb, and I ended up on the ground! Love those days. Sometimes I wish I could go back!! The times spent with my friends that I met growing up were the greatest times of my life. I cherish every memory I have of those days.
