The first time I played hookey from school was when I was in Kindergarten. All of the upper grades had minimum day but for some reason, Kimdergarten didn't My sister had nobody to play with since both of us were pretty much new at Cabrillo and didn't know anybody yet. We were walking up the hill towards our house (I had no idea why we were heading home if we were playing hookey) and we saw our Mom walking down the hill to pick me up from school. we got scared and hid in the bushes and watched her walk by. My sister was laughing and I was scared. I don't remember what I said next but my Mom heard me and came back. BUSTED!!! It was also the first time my Dad ever punished me.
