Susie's Story
Life
April 10 2006
....After Valley, I attended SA JR. College for 1 1/2 years and then moved back to IN., married my Mooresville HS sweetheart, got my degree from IU and had 3 children and then eventually 5 grandchildren.
In 2001 I seperated from the sweetheart mentioned above after 40 years of marriage and moved to Nevada. Chris Woodard (another 1961 Valley alumni)and I have decided to be together. Chris has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Those of you at the 2001 reunion are aware of our "special reunion". I have retired from the allied medical field and Chris retired from flying and instructing in Dec. 06. We are happily traveling around the country in our RV. We now TRUE FULLTIMERS after selling our home in Nevada. We have our baby with us....Pupper "the Yorkie" and have met so many people and made good friends on the RV circuit. If it weren't for Classmates.com we wouldn't be together today. Thanks, Classmates.
School
I attended the Mooresville school system from 1953 until 1960. (5th grade to end of Jr. year) There were many changes during my tenure. The school became Mooresville Consolidated School sy...Expand for more
stem during my 7th grade year and
many new students came into our classes from the outside communities. The entire school system was located on the Newby Campus, Monroe Street. Mooresville will always be my "hometown". After my Junior year I moved with my family to Santa Ana, CA where I attended Santa Ana Valley HS graduating in 1961 and then attending Santa Ana JR College. In 1962 I journeyed back to Mooresville, married had 3 children and spent 40 years. I have since returned to the West coast where I am now a fulltime RV'er with a classmate from Santa Ana. I have been back for a reunions to see my "61 class!!
College
I actually started classes at Santa Ana JR. College in my senior high school year. After graduation I continued and finished in 1962 with a degree in English and Journalism.
I was offered a scholarship to San Jose State to study my field but there were obstacles so I went back to my INDIANA. It took a number of years to finish my degree.
Three children and a husband needed the attention that I just couldn't give to Indiana University. I really loved being a wife and mother so no harm done!!!
