Suzanne's Story
After high school I attended Oakland U. for 2 and1/2 years where I met my husband interestingly enough through another former Shrine student he was dating. It was my good fortune that Patty Mills '73 felt more sisterly toward him and suggested he ask me out instead as she knew I was definately interested in getting to know him better. The rest is history. We've been married almost 33 yrs. Have 6 children (3 deceased). The three here are 27 yrs. 18 yrs and 11yrs.! Yes, I had a bonus baby. I've spent the time since I left the outside working world( back in 1981) as a homemaker, an occasional self employed sales person and active chairperson/volunteer in many areas.

'll speak my mind on things that are important to me. I'll also step up to the plate and take on organizing large activities others would not. I like the age I'm at and feel it frees me to be just exactly who I am without any justifications or apologies. If you don't like me or what I stand for then.... oh well. On the other hand, I do try extend my hand in friendship to all and will and have gone the distance for those who need it. I also I have friends who are completely opposite and it doesn't both me in the least bit as I can respect their opinions when we disagree and not let their opinions cloud my judgement of their goodness.
Like many people I have a bucket list I've been working on since I turned 50. Slowly but surely I am starting to check off some of my goals/dreams however, I am finding that doing some has become harder with age. However, just as Dorie says in "Finding Nemo", "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming." that's exactly what I plan to do!
