Oh, well: Born in NYC (Harlem), then, P. S. 160 Queens, Shimer JHS 142, in Jamaica, and John Adams High, but left prior to gradution; i.e., NC to finish high scool (whew!), then St. Augustine's College (Raleigh, NC grad 1967), Atlanta niversity for graduate school grad 1974.
Best friends in NY: Johnny Smith (no kin), Davie Hill, George Staley (sang in many of George's groups in 160, Shimer, and Adams.
