Sylvia's Story
After I left high school, I had every intention of getting into Journalism. I began studies at York University, but my strength for languages led me to teaching, but not before I spent a year employed in the retail industry. I then applied to U of T and received my teaching certificate. I taught French, grades 1, 3 & 5 as well as Special Ed. for 15 years with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, during which time I got married and had a daughter. few years. During this time, I kept in touch with my oldest and closest friends, many of whom go back to elementary and Junior High. I hope my friends remember me as a good friend, one they could rely on to listen and help when needed. I know I've lost touch with some friends, even though I tried to stay connected. I think some friends come into your life for a reason, some stay, others don't. The ones who do are your friends for life, and those who don't helped make you who you are just by being a part of it if even for a moment in time.
