Tammie's Story

Let me give you the Readers Digest version........... I was born at Riverside Hosp in Kankakee, Illinois and lived in Bradley, IL until the middle of 1973. We then moved to Evansville, IN. Then not too long after 6th grade started....we moved from there to Lafayette, IN. My Dad got transfered with General Foods each time he got a promotion. We were in Lafayette until the end of 7th grade. Then we moved to Livermore, CA. Spent 8th grade and freshman year there.......moved to Mahwah NJ at the beginning of Sophomore year of HS. My parents actually moved back to Lafayette the week after my 19th bday. I stayed in NJ for another 4 years. I moved to Lafayette to live with my parents in Feb 1990. In May 1990 I moved back to our hometown in IL because my parents were relocating there. I lived with my grandparents for a few months and then bought a house in Nov. 1990. (Worked full time at Cigna and attended night classes at college. Because of being on my own.....I had to take college classes a few at a time because I had to work....it took a while to finally finish.) Met my now husband also in November 1990. He was my cousins best friend. He was 18 when I met him...I was 23. I wasn't interested in a boyfriend....especially not one that was 5 years younger than me but.....he grew on me. We were together for about 3 1/2 years and were married on 5/14/94. I got a job at a pharmecuedical plant in town. I was the maintenance supervisor and also worked in A/P for awhile. Got pregnant in 5/96. Miscarried in 8/96. We bought a new house in anticipation of our family to come. Became pregnant again in 11/96 and had our fabulous baby girl, Mollie 8/9/97. She was due on my 30th bday but...decided to wait a week and a day so she could have her own special day. She is our only. I had a horrible child birth experience and we always had the fear that we could lose another one and we were not ready for that. She's perfect and we just kinda knew when we brought her home that our family was complete. I was a stay at home Mom with Mollie until Nov 2004. At that time a friend of ours was looking for someone to help her with her and her husbands' company. He is a surgical assistant and has a group of surgical assistants that work for him. I worked in the office doing schedualing and insurance billing until this month. Now I am trying my hand at Wright Family Manager. Many things have been ignored and put on hold while working so..it's time now to take care of those things. I am also planning on helping my parents out with things around their house. My husband...Expand for more
s name is Stacy and he is a mechanic. Worked for a bus company in town for almost 17 years until he was let go last August. At that time he went to the fire academy in our town to become a fire fighter. A dream he's always had. In June of this year he graduated from the fire academy. He is now taking EMT classes in order to further his chances for a full-time FF job in the future. He is also working full time at a truck supply company as a mechanic. Mollie, our daughter will is 11 and in 6th grade this year. My parents are in town, a mile and half down the road from us actually. My brother, Jon, lives in CT with his wife and 3 kids. He stayed on the East Coast too when my parents left. Other than all that.....stuff for me has been pretty normal I guess. I've had my ups and downs in life. Made lots of mistakes but also have lots of great stories to tell and lessons learned. I used to hate that we moved around so much but now that I'm older I am thankful for the opportunities I had to see our country and to make friends from coast to coast. I am so grateful for places like MySpace and FaceBook and Classmates. I find so many of my old friends on them!! I live a pretty normal life. I used to smoke....quit when I was pregnant, started again when she was born. Quit for good in 2000. I have developed a weight problem over the past 15 years. In 2001 I lost 86 pounds and kept it off for about 9 months. Have gradually put it back plus some. Am trying to work with some demons to get that taken care of. I have some great friends who we met through a playgroup for our kids when they were 3. We're still a close knit circle. In January 2005 I started attending a Christian church. Since leaving IL in 1973 had not been to church except for weddings and funerals. I felt like I'd found the "home" I'd spent my whole life looking for. On Feb 13, 2005 I accept Jesus as my Savior and have since become very involved in our church and the children's ministries there. It truly has changed my life and mine was a life that I thought did not have a lot of redeeming qualities !! It's amazing that God can see through all the bad into your heart and see the person He planned for you to be. Anyway.............sorry this has taken so much time and space! If you are someone from my past....I'd love to hear back from you and know what you've been doing all these years. I do remember people. I do from everywhere I've lived. That's why I love the websites that help me to find them. Find me here and myspace dot com slash wrighttam Also have a FaceBook account.
