Tammy's Story
Life
After High School I went to C.U. for a few years, but never finished. Got a job in the computer industry, loved it and got an Associates Degree in Computer Science. Met Stu, my husband of 21 years, in 1983, after a few serious and... not so serious entanglements. Stuart and I were married in Colorado in 1984 and moved to S.F. Bay Area where we have lived since. Stu is an Aerospace Engineer with Nasa, and I worked in the telecom industry and then in Research and Development for several years, designing operating systems and new computers. Stu got his PHd Stanford. I got cancer, recovered, rethought the whole career situation, got an Associates Degree from U.C. Berkeley for Food Science and catered for while. ad to Alzheimers&cancer, after caring for him daily for 8 years. So,now... I'm a stay-at-home mom, though live-in-my-car mom would be more accurate. I do PTA, fundraising (for everything), team mom for every sport every invented (Zach does them all), band mom (he plays the sax), and am politically active in anything/everything having to do with local education. Stu is the one who will make a difference to the world, but I'm the woman behind him enabling him to do that...I love raising our son, hardest most time consuming job I ever had ...except maybe dealing with Alzheimers and watching my Dad die.. I loved my career when I was working and I was/am great with computers, but am really happy behind the sidelines, understanding school politics, ralleying parents, raising kids. We're coming to the reunion in July and I'm really looking forward to it. [
