Tammy's Story
Life
Married 29+ years with 3 children. Two girls (26 & 18) and one boy (24). In 2000, my husband closed the family remodeling business to become a Pella Windows salesman. I was a Stay at home mom and have a small sewing business. When my youngest daughter was accepted into the IL Math & Science Academy which is a residential school I went out and got myself a part-time job in bookkeeping. I was president in 98-99 of a local Woman's Club in Lombard and president again for 05-06. I also hold a position on the GFWC IL Jr. State Board - this term as Dean of Chairman. (For those of you who knew me way back - hard to believe!!) e Year!! In 2001 I was Co-Director for TLC Camp, a week-long day-camp for kids with cancer and I again for 2007 - Camp's 25th year. I love to quilt and have made blue jean quilts out of recycled blue jeans. My newest craft project is crocheting basket liners for Longaberger baskets and making purses out of placemats and selling them on e-bay. My oldest daughter is mentally handicapped. She keeps busy by doing sports and social activities with NEDSRA - a local special recreation association and where I volunteer on average two nights a week. When I was 33 I found out I was born with a third kidney that decided to give me lots of problems - almost lost my life that year!! Now I am doing fine - feel great - love life!!
