Tara's Story

Life I live in Tucson, AZ, where I work as an insurance agent. I never planned to get into this line of work; I don't think anyone plans to get in insurance, but it's very interesting, no two days are alike, and the pay is disgustingly good. Prior to getting into insurance, I worked as a sports writer for a newspaper in the Wilkes-Barre - Scranton area. I am happily divorced, no kids (nor do I want any kids). I don't dislike them, just prefer the kind I can return. I have an eclectic mix of friends who are almost as nuts as I am and therefore an absolute blast. I think I live alone, but since I rarely am alone, I could be wrong on that account. I have a significant other who is really awesome and generally just enjoy life. I've done some interesting things and seen some interesting places and met some interesting people. I served in the Army, was in Desert Storm, did the college thing, and now have a successful career that fulfills me. I don't think one could ask for much more than that out of life. I haven't lived in the Reading area in a LONG time and, quite frankly, don't particularly miss it. I don't much miss the East Coast, either. That's not a slam, it's just that I hate cold weather and couldn't imagine living anywhere other than where I am now. Tucson is the first place I've ever lived that I felt that way about, so I think I'll be here permanently. Although the summers are hot, the fall, winter, and spring definitely make up for it. else can you go swimming on Christmas? The pacing here is a little slower and certainly more laid-back. It's rare that you see someone in a business suit. While I don't miss Reading, it'd be nice to hear from some of my old friends. Drop me a line some time. School I didn't really do the crush thing in high school. I was pretty wrapped up in my own world and didn't pay much attention to who was cute or wasn't. I wouldn't say any of my teachers inspired me. If anything, I found most of them to be really annoying. What I remember most about high school was the absolute desire I felt to finish and start living my life - on my own terms. If I had to do high school again (wow, that would be torturous) I'd probably be more friendly. I make friends so easily now that I'm past that awkward stage and completely comfortable with who I am. I had some really cool friends in high school who made it bearable. It'd be nice to catch up with them - but I've really lost touch with everyone back home. My happiest high school moment was graduation day. I left for Basic Training four days later and never looked back! Workplace My career is fulfilling. It pays the bills really nicely. I have a great condo, a nice ride, and am diligently saving for early retirement.... I remember several places at which I worked in high school: Arby's, Boscov's, and Nickel's comes to mind. Is Nickel's even still around? The last time I was in Reading (several years ago) it was gone...
