TaRrell's Story

A down-to-earth scholar serious about his work. Calm and collected demeanor. Realist. I always wanted to be a Marine when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were close. Writing music, playing video games, & drinking a Red Stripe calms me down. I came to a football game, in high school, wearing some tight-ass pants my moms picked out. The ladies dugged but the fellas clowed. lol If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have car, great pay, and constructive work environment to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Growing up, I had lots. My Hulk Hogan, Utlimate Warrior, and Batman to name a few. As a grew older I aquired an understanding love for Jesus Christ. I like the teaching of Elijah Muhammed & the Dalai Lama too. I like the idea of "Good Intention" and good advice from people you meet along the way. It just comes from any and everywhere. Born in Kaneohe Bay (Honolulu) Hawaii, I moved to Norfolk, Va in 1986. I've been back and forth between there and the Bronx before moving. Six years later, North Carolina and not soon after, New Jersey. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is D. Mills, H. Lewis, O. Matthews, C. Feliciano, K Warfield, J. Doggendorf, M. Taylor, M. Barrett(both of em)S too, C. Yancey, N. Zigelbaurer(did I spell that right lol), T. Leatherberry, B. Burgess***my dogg & crazy as hell lol***, A. Drakeford, T. Brown, D. Phillips, T. McCoy, M. Artist, T. Wilson, and many others because I haven't seen most of them since elementary & jr. high school. I know that's more than one but f*ck it! lol I'm not really big on the "boob tube" nowadays. I was diggin' The Sopranos' but that was a really stupid ending! My woman likes 'Sex in the City' so I watch until I fall asleep. I'm sorry ladies, but the only one that has relationships worth talking about...that's right fellaz..."Samantha"! Moment of truth has got me bugged. Family Guy got me hooked too. That's about it. I just can't wait till football season. Giants gon take it...again. I'm sorry! I waited damn near 17 years for that win....beating an UNDEFEATED TEAM TOO...FROM A WILDCARD SPOT! lol O.K, I'm done. :) My biggest suprise is that you meet people that hadn't yet left high school...MENTALLY! It's aggrevating and pathetic but they exist amonghts us. I knew it would be tough as an African American with little or no help but my mother wasn't joking when she said "life agah sumtime trow dem weird pithces pon unu.." to me at a younger age. Now it makes sense. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel everything and add on a lot more. My dream home would be one that's paid for and has a studio & pooltable. My own "chill & reflection" room. This apartment sucks a**, but it's mine...well, leasing it...(you know what i mean!) No kids yet. Yes, my soldiers do march! I just don't believe in "putting the cart before in front of the horse". I'd love to see Mrs. Kidwell, my kindergarden teacher, again. I use...Expand for more
d get in trouble, alot, for cussing! lol I miss Mrs. Haynes & Mrs. Sawyer. Mrs. Kearney was my all time favorite. Mrs. Carmen was my first "teacher crush"...she was hot! I can't forget about Mrs. Nesbitt. I got the a** whoopin' of my life because of her! lol I stayed on her Honor Roll though! :) She was cool as a fan though as long as I wasn't misbehaving. I couldn't help it. I had wild friends and we had alot in common. If I won $100 million, I'd give $100,000 of it to every school I attended, then spend the rest on family, church and invest the rest. I'm community college guy. I don't do frats, systems, gangs, or groups. If your real enough to have genuine mutual respect for yourself and others, then I'll be more than willing to join a legion of those with those core values. I'm still searching. Where I am and whom I'm with, right now, is what truley makes me happy. My father once told me that life isn't about the things you have to enjoy. It's about enjoying what you have. I have no idea what happened with my first crush. I'd hoped that she is happily married with a person that sees what I saw in her. My current age is 26. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be married with wonderful lives. I was so completely correct, for the most part. Always working hard. I hope to retire in 20 years but that remains to be seen. My best friend would tell you I'm real and intelligent, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as over educated. I believe in doing you. What ever makes you comfortable...do that. In a business enviornment I can 3 piece suit it with a tape up or I can jeans and hoody it with a nice pair of construcs. On a regular day, I might have on some pajama pants with chongletas on my feet. I think the weirdest job I've ever had was working at this pork production place. It smelled aweful but the pay was descent. The people were pretty cool too. I share my home with my fiance', which I find to be annoying at times but adorable. Just my high school diploma and a couple Business Systems certifications are all I have on my wall along with pictures of family. If there was anything I can do over, I wouldn't change a thing. I don't deny God's intention. If it wasn't meant, he wouldn't have let it happen. In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by working, networking and smart investments. I pick my friends like I pick my fruit. If it's good for me I let it nurture. If it isn't I space myself from its presents. I really don't know what would suprise people about me. I just hope that my success would silence some and gratify others. My first job was at a grocery store, where I got paid by tips to push carts and choufer customers' groceries. What I remember most about it is that was probably the best job I ever had. lol. I'll never forget all the bycicle accidents I got into. I wasn't reckless, I just loved speed. I learned, quickly, how to pay attention!
