Tascha's Story
Life
My life biography, not to exceed 4000 characters...I hope I can pull it off. Guess I'll have to leave out the juicy, descriptive deets. Born in Ft. Dodge IA; moved to Scotch Plains, New Jersey as a tot; attended McGinn Elementary, and professionally acted and modeled until age 8, when we moved to Indialantic, Florida. Attended Indialantic Elementary, Hoover Jr. High, and Melbourne High School. Headed to CU-Boulder for two years before transferring to FSU. Graduated in 1990 with a degree in Media Communication. Worked at WLRQ in Cocoa as a receptionist and on-air personality until 1992, when I loaded my only possessions...my clothes and my cat, Toonces...in the car and moved to Dallas, TX to live with Carol Gillham. I had met my now-husband, Brad, visiting her in the summer of '91. Floated around as a waitress and "marketing assistant" (aka glorified secretary) before heading to graduate school at UT-Austin in '93. Couldn't bear to be apart from my love, so transferred to UT-Dallas after one semester. Got married in 1995, and later that year graduated with a Master's in Communication Disorders. Went to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist in 2 elementary schools in the Dallas area. Bought our first home...a wonderful house in the M-streets...in '96. Had my first child, Kensey, in April 199...Expand for more
8, and returned to work part-time 3 months later (happily, since she had colic). Because the tech market was great and my husband got a fabulous job offer that was almost certain to secure our financial future (stock options, baby!), we moved to San Jose, CA in 1999, and then to Santa Cruz the following May. Bought a teeny-tiny, unremarkable little house for an absurd amount of money (such is this area of California). Market went south; needless to say, our future has not been secured! Gave birth to my son, Trevor, in March 2001. Realized the value of living near family, since we do not (a little free time, please!?!). Returned to work in March 2003 as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Gentiva Rehab Without Walls working with brain-injured clients...I go to their homes to do therapy with them. I also work occasional Saturdays in a rehab unit at a local hospital. At this time, I am absolutely LOVING my jobs, and have rediscovered my passion for dance...I'm taking hip-hop/"street jazz" classes regularly, and I joined a group that performs. I adore my precious chitlins (thank goodness colic is no indication of character...it DOES end!), and am happily married (with the occasional glitch) after 10 years of matrimony! And Toonces is still alive and well. Phew..I wonder how many characters I have left?!
