Tawnie Bailey:

CLASS OF 1992
Seattle, WA

Tawnie's Story

Life I finally graduated from vet school in 2004 (after 11+ years of college and dreaming about it since I was 7 years old). After highschool, I moved to Pullman and attended WSU. I met Jeff in an English class; I received my Bachelor's from WSU in 1996 and married Jeff the next month. We moved to Spokane and I attended EWU for another 3+ years before I was accepted into vet school (on my 5th attempt to get in). Since graduating as a doggie doc, I've been having the time of my life. I practice in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho--where the pace of life is quieter than Seattle (plus there are lakes everywhere and fun places to hike with our pooches). My boss is pretty fantastic--he's very much into his family and enjoying life and expects his employees to do the same, which is pretty unusual in this field. Jeff and I had our first daughter July 2005 and another baby girl November 7, 2007. Hopefully she'll be a little less spunky than her big sister, Sydney Sophia. Sydney is everything that I didn't even know that I wanted. She looks more like her daddy and has his fun personality. We also have 2 Golden retrievers and a little cat. I put my boy, Yoyo, to sleep July '01. Our universe is pretty full of things that make a baby smile. I hope that you are doing well. I get pretty sappy about my friends (be it from high school, vet school, etc) and certainly wouldn't be who I am without you. Thanks for visiting my profile! Tawnie Sch...Expand for more
ool "Loves/ Likes, etc" My first crush was on Michael Pederson in the 1st grade..does that count? He had very blond hair and was shorter than I was and couldn't stand me. In junior high, Ryan R. caught my attention. In high school well there isn't room enough to recount those, although I remember asking Jonny Januto to take a picture of a gentleman (W.P.) in the locker room for me in 9th grade. As for loves, everyone knows my dog took center stage, followed by B.H. and T.L, although I don't think I told them until after high school (if I even told T.L., I don't remember the details very well). Overall, great people that I am lucky to have known. But, God was smiling on me when I met Jeff. I was blessed to have had Dr. Kasuga at EWU. He is one of the most amazing teachers/professors, etc. that I have ever known, and, after all of my schooling, there have been more than a few. I named my first daughter, Sydney after him. In highschool, Mrs. Hering, Robinson, and Livingston were pretty amazing. I remember a gal in 9th grade telling me that I was a ordinary girl with a very pretty name and that I would be a disappointment for anyone on a blind date. Most of high school was very fun for me--I focused pretty hard on that and extracurricular activities so that my not-so-lovely home life didn't seem to take up so much of my attention. Hopefully my baby girls will be able to enjoy their high school years for different reasons.
