Theodore's Story
Life
If someone would have told me in high school that twenty years down the road I was going to be a missionary living in Mexico, married to an awesome Mexican woman, have four children (three of them triplets)... after picking myself up off the floor I would have asked them to give me some of the drugs that they were on because it must be really "good stuff."
How did I get here? That's a very long story but the short answer is that I wasn't satisfied with my life. I didn't have a sense of purpose. I wanted to change and tried many many times. Finally, frustrated and feeling hopeless because I realized that I could not change myself, I cried out to God. I told Him that I was sick of trying to change my life and that He could take my life and do with it what He wanted to. I surrendered.
Almost instantly I was totally changed on the inside. Everything was different. It was like waking up after a long dream. And the rest, as they say... is history.
There is a verse in the Bible that says, "He that is in Christ is a new creature. Old things have passed away. All things have become new." Which basically means that you are brand new person on the inside. That your past is totally gone. That is exactly what happened to me.
God totally accepted me in spite of all of my faults and gave me a heart that wants to do His will. And that is what lead me here to Mexico. The desire to do His wil...Expand for more

It's amazing how God can take people like fishermen, prostitutes, poor, lowly, "losers"...like myself and use them to have an eternal impact in the lives of others all around the world. That's God!
Now I have the privilege and honor of working with people from all over Latin America and to see how their lives are literally transformed in a short period of time through what we are doing. All that just for saying, "Take my life, Lord and do with it what you want to do."
It's not always easy, of course. Life always has it's challenges otherwise it would be extremely boring but I am sure glad that I know that He is with me as I walk through them and that I can count on His help.
As I watch my boys grow and life gets busier every day with home school, soccer, Tae Kwon Do, and all the other activities, I reflect back on my life and my desire is that they will be able to walk through their challenges even from their young age right now, learning to count on and trust the One that holds their future in His hand.
To my friends and fellow classmates, I want you to know that I think of you often and hope that you are doing well as you walk in the destiny that God has prepared for you.
Remember this...
"I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a good future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11
