Teresa's Story
It's bizarre for me to think about who I was then, compared to myself today. I have always been able to stand up for myself when pushed to the edge. I have always been loyal to those few close friends. But then I was always living on the edge and was so confused about what I wanted. I knew beauty school was in my future and never wanted kids until after i was 30 and then wanted to adopt. I knew who I wanted to marry even though I lusted after a certain guy ( ridiculous, now that I think about those long phone calls of silence because we were that different ) I had 2 good friends Sarah and Nancy and then 2 of the best guys by my side, Kenny and Michael. So that was then and here is now... I went to Springfield college of beauty( I am a beauty school drop out), I got pregnant with my first daughter Nikki at age 19, Surprise Kenny we are having a daughter and Had her at age 20. Married Kenny in 2003 when our daughter was 1 :) I worked at timeout tavern, did in home care, and went to Lane CC for awhile. I became addicted to drugs and alcohol, Neglected my family, and made bad choices in life that resulted in me being pregnant and losing my baby in May 2005. life to cancer around that same time. June 5th 2005 I received Jesus as my Savior and turned away from all the addictions that riddled my life. Without Jesus I wouldn't have made it to write this. I haven't worked outside the home since. Surprise I found out I was pregnant again with daughter #2, Kenny received Jesus January 8th 2006 and we had our daughter in March. Surprise 8 months later another pregnancy, Daughter #3 was born in August. Wow 3 girls before I was even 30 and a stay at home mom! Who knew?!? Well Guess what I had another child before I was 30 and finally the boy that God promised Kenny! Our boy was born in August also. We made some life changing decision the later part of 2009 and I started using again in 2010. Sad day!!!! But I am happy to say that Jesus loves us so much that he is willing to forgive and help restore us. I rededicated my life to Jesus in September of 2013. I refuse to serve man but am so happy to surrender to God!!! SO I go to The Door on 38th and Main st. In Springfield Oregon.....Come check out our life changing services! :)
I'm now a trained Doula and have a passion to help teenagers. I hope to someday put both of those things together and reach our youth.
