Teresa's Story
Life
I'm just your average working class Granny now! I was a shy backwards little geeky girl in school, up until I turned 14, then started hanging out w/ my new best friend Tammy Diveto, and then I just blossomed into some kind of little teenage Lolita! Definitely had boyfriends-a new one almost weekly, if I recall correctly! Those were the days-the 70's ROCKED! I still sometimes listen to the tunes that take me back-Elton John (before he came out of the closet!), the Who, LedZep, Skynard, Jeff Beck, Frampton, Isley Bros, Stevie Wonder, Gino Vanelli, The Guess Who, ELO, ELP, of course Disco tunes, oh man, many many MANY more! My life has been pretty cool, I was married for 20 yrs. to the father of my kids, remarried in 2002, seperated now; but now that I'm a creaky old Granny, things are tougher. Still trying to raise my grown boys, try to spend time w/ grandson, work (when I can find work), and still make time to go to Church; my oldest son having health probs, my youngest son being very rebellious, MAN, where did simplicity go?? I told Tammy recently that I CRAVE boredom, and it eludes me! How ironic is that? To teenagers, boredom is the #1 deadly sin,...Expand for more
but when you're older, it is something you fantasize about...
School
OH BOY, DID I HATE GOING TO SCHOOL! I was just a little nervous wreck back then! Guess I was a little momma's baby. Wanted to stay home & let Mom take care of me. My best school memories were DEFINITELY my friendship w/ Doris Davis! We were 2 peas in a pod! I didn't know who was the bigger spaz-her or me! We knew we weren't cool, and WE DIDN'T CARE! I'll never forget in the 2nd grade, our old teacher, Mrs. Ingle, had us all fill out some sort of report, and one of the questions was "what is your father's name?", and I learned after that that Doris wasn't the world's brightest student, cause Mrs. Ingles called us both up to her desk to ask us why Doris claimed her father's name was Clarence McDougal! My family still gets a laugh out of that story! (it's a wonder some nasty rumors didn't get started from that!) Good old Doris-I hope she's doing OK! As for favorite teachers, I have to claim MAMIE NOLES as my ALL-TIME FAVORITE! She was the only teacher I ever had that recognized my intelligence.
