Terri's Story
I've spent the last 30 years writing stuff...originally hunched in front of a typewriter, now an iMac. I regret that I didn't pursue a more physical profession...goat wrangler, hydro linesperson, dodgeball coach, professional drum majorette. The problem is, you have to do it sitting down, in front of a little screen, listening to people say things like, "Favro, this doesn't quite work..."
And on that note...I'm doing some research on a (funny) magazine article on getting in touch with people I knew a long time ago...so this seemed like a good way to do it. And my deadline is only a couple of weeks away, so please someone out there in cyber friend land, give me something interesting to write about!
Whoa! The story wizard just popped up on the right side of the screen asking me where I have lived and why did I move? I've lived in London, Timmins and Toronto, but mostly Toronto, which is where I am now. Why did I move here? T...Expand for more
he pursuit of filthy lucre! Actually I moved here to work on the King Tut Exhibit at the AGO in 1980 and now it's coming back to Toronto...must be a sign that I'm about to move again. I also worked for the Writers Union of Canada, Maclean Hunter (now Rogers Publishing), Vickers and Benson (ad agency), Stone and Adler (ad agency), and for the past 20 or so years, I've been freelancing. Mostly I work in advertising but have been branching out into magazines, and even have some literary ambitions. I've had some luck with that too but I won't bore with my fiction attempts except to say I came close (but no cigar) to getting a book published (humrous "fiction") about growing up in a multi-ethnic community near the Welland Canal. Now I'm writing a second one and working Toronto into it in an attempt to get someone more interested. That's it for me, now someone say something back to me!!! Did I mention I have a deadline to meet???
