Some of you may remember me as being involved in a lot of music while in high school. In fact, after high school, I went to Henderson State University in Arkadelphia where I supposedly majored in vocal music.In reality, I majored in "life". I surely did learn a lot about life in those 2 1/2 years at HSU, much more than I did about academics, that's for sure. I didn't figure out all of life's complexities, but I did figure out that I wasn't really ready (or maybe I wasn't willing) to teach music to a bunch of kids that really didn't want to be in that class... I learned that I needed more time to figure out who I was and what I really wanted to do. Long story, short version--- I came home to northwest Arkansas for Christmas, broke off my engagement, and started to work. I worked for Arkansas Western Gas for a couple of years before I got married. Before long, we had our first child, Casey, in 1980. I continued working for AWG, but started back to school when Casey was 2 1/2. My last semester of school (Elementary Education) I got pregnant with my 2nd child, Katie, who is now 22.
