Terri's Story
Life
Married 18 yrs with twin daughters born in 2000. Life has literally been on the move. We have moved 10 times in 17 yrs, making the average stay in any one place about 2 yrs. No, we are not military...every move has been a corporate relo. My husband is in the commercial insurance industry. I have worked various jobs (from retail to education to medical)because of the moves and now I am at home for my girls. I am not done with myself though(always a work in progress)...I still think about going back to school to pursue some kind of medical destination when the timing is right. Family is good and life is good....consider ourselves to be quite blessed.
I still run long (a bit heavy on the endurance side after all these yrs) and love to read and be with good friends. I still try to connect with my genuine good ...Expand for more
friends back home in Ga, although I am living in southern CA...and I have also met new ones along the way. I try to get back to the home state at least once a yr to make all the visits and to make sure my girls know where home is. Southern Ca is great place to visit, but not necessarily to live... most folks are pretty liberal, superficial and it is damn expensive! And it takes alittle longer than most places to connect to people for those reasons. At first you dont succeed, try, try again. That saying is certainly proving itself out here. We have met some decent, good folks, but it just took awhile to find them!
Not too many folks can say they live about 40 minutes away from Santa Barbara though and it is a great place to have so close by....I try to keep that in perspective when I miss everyday normal folks.
