Theresa M.'s Story

Life After high school, (and a few other jobs here and there), I worked as a financial secretary while studying interior design. In no particular order, (because all intertwined), I studied and worked in the design field, computer field, medical field and social service/welfare field as a shelter coordinator and counselor for a women's and children's center and counselor for a county children's receiving home. I owned a design business in the late 1970's to the early 1980's. I called out to Jesus one night in 1971 and He dealt with me until I gave Him my old life in 1972... HE then gave me a new life in return. I was a street evangelist for over 13 years, and a missionary and assistant Pastor in Mexico for 6 years. I came to North Carolina in the early 1990's to care for my ailing mother and remarried a year later after one of my aunt's played match maker. My husband is in law enforcement and I am a full time homemaker. As far as the classmates question about other pets goes, there are or had been all the other animals listed around us at any given time except for ferrets, (that I know of). Not that we had all those things as pets, but some yes, fish... love the little creatures but heart broken when they died so I finally quit buying them... goats, our neighbor raised them for awhile... that was really great... we could always get rid of our cuttings... horses, my son and I wanted a horse, but hmmm, didn't happen, could have, but didn't... but our neighbor now raises minature one's, so they are right out at our property line and we feed them apples and carrots occaisionally. Birds, at one time I wanted a parrot, but since they live so long, I decided not to purchase one because if we all went to be with the Lord, I didn't know who I would pick to watch over the bird. So now we just settle for all the wild birds, cardinales, blue birds, and jays, finches of all colors, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and so many more that I would probably bore you with all their names. Pigs... well, around these parts, there used to be a lot of pig farms... but thank the Lord that they have moved out... don't get me wrong... I like the little critters, but whew, what a smell... gross! (Talking about the farms). Actually, the goats were getting pretty smelly there for awhile... then came the sheep, or was it the sheep, then the goats... well, at any rate, our neighbor's critters keep us entertained as do our own pets. I love to watch the colts chasing each other when they find out that they can run. So cute. We have snakes crawling around now and then... spiders, lizards, turtles, frogs... we had a really clever little frog that used to come and eat the zapped bugs in the evening for two years. There are rabbits running around wild... opposums as well, they ate all our figs one season while I was in California. Rodents, we don't have a problem with them as we once had... four cats now and previously others, they didn't stand a chance... even our dog liked to go after them. There are a lot of other wild critters around here as well, but hopefully no bears, as of yet. Chicken's, no, we don't have any but one of our neighbors does... and what about cows... no, none of them as well... but yes, we have some neighbor's who have them. I saw a deer running across our lawn one day as we approached our home. I thought that was unusual since I haven't seen any that close to home before. (Five miles down the road yes, not unusual). I initially came to classmates looking for my step-brother because our old friend S.F. was looking for him. So funny... I found him living only ten miles from me after I started searching for him. (We both came to NC because of our ailing mother's, and here we are... only ten miles away from each other.) Ok now... I know that the critter stuff above is just a lot of rambling but I hope that you will feel at ease as I talk to you about the most important fact and decision in all our lives... yes, one day, or night, we will each breathe not one more breath, and we will pass onto another place, spiritually. You may or may not believe in the after life, or hereafter... but whether you do or not... please, don't take a chance with eternity and just forget or slough,(sluff), (brush), off these words that I'm about to share with you. First of all... Jesus does exist... He is the Son of God... and they LOVE YOU so very, very much!...Expand for more
If you don't know the Lord, and would like too... then you can just repeat this simple little prayer "out loud," with a "sincere and repentive heart," and He will make Himself known to you. Lord Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner, forgive me of my sins, come into my heart and save me... and heal me... and help me to live my life for you. "In Jesus name I pray, amen." By repeating that simple little prayer sincerely, with your "whole heart," you will be "saved" and will begin a new life. You will have a clean slate, all sins forgiven, (and forgotten)... washed clean... a new creature in Christ, (2Cor.5:17). "Born again", (Peter 1:23, John 3:3). Please, don't be offended with what I'm writing. Jesus/Yeshua came to save the people of this world, not to condemn any of us. He loves you. He loves each and every one of us. But as long as we have sin in our lives, it separates us from God... Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life... He is the "only way to God". You may ask, how do you know? There's this religion and that religion... etc. Well, I'll tell you... I have tried many religions and philosophies and life styles of this world before I gave my life over to Jesus. I've studied the Word of God, which is the Bible, and have lived it for over 30 years now. Being a Christian is a way of life, not just something one does on Sunday and then the rest of the week, "do your own thing". It's an everyday, every minute way of life. A personal relationship with the Lord God. If you do chose to repeat the prayer above... next, read the Bible... the book of "John" to start out with and continue reading the New Testament over and over again, asking "Jesus and the Holy Spirit" to help you understand "His Word." And then, pray for a Church that is really serving God, not just playing church, or is some kind of a "social club." If you are really serious about Salvation, then let Jesus lead you to that Church where you can have the "real thing", not just a religion, but where you can have a real personal relationship with Him and grow in His way. You really can know God, through Jesus Christ! I hope you do, I hope you will, give Him your old heart and life and receive a new one in return. And more than that, an eternity in Paradise one day. The Bible says that it is appointed for man once to die, and then the judgement, (Hebrews 9:27)... and if you are absent in the body, (flesh), then you are present with Him in the spirit. (Or not, depending if you have repented of your sins or not). So don't take chances... eternity is forever... say the prayer above... try Him, He will never leave you nor forsake you. And if you have been saved before, but have turned your back on the Lord... you still belong to Him... He loves you and is waiting for you to return to Him... come back to Him... don't let the devil, that old liar, keep you from your reward. After all, he, (the devil), cannot be saved... he came to kill, steal and destroy... he is the father of lies. Choose life... ask Jesus. You can have that void, (emptiness), in your heart filled up... God is the only one that can fill it... worldly success won't do it, and either will stuff... and certainly not another person... only through Jesus, (who is alive in the spirit). I am so glad and thankful that I was able to be with my mother on her death bed when she repeated that prayer with me... she had a stroke and was in the hospital and couldn't speak... but when I asked her to pray with me, she repeated that prayer loud and clear... it was a miracle. A few days later she went into a coma and days later passed on. And yes, I miss her everyday, but I know where she is and whom she's with... and bless God, that He sent His only begotten Son here on this earth to pay the sacrifice for all our sins. So that by us, confessing with our mouths, (Romans 10:9&10), that Jesus is the Christ and acknowledging that we are sinner's and asking Him to forgive us... Praise God... we can be the children of God. (He will have mercy on whom He will, and compassion on whom He will, Romans 9:15&16). I Love, love, love your soul... and Jesus LOVES YOU most of all!!! If I don't see you in this lifetime, I hope to see you in Paradise. PS... if I have ever offended you in anyway... I am truly sorry. Shalom! (Peace!) Marian PS...
