Theresa's Story

I have so many memories of the growing years. Jeez, the pains of silent crushes (on guys you feel would never be interested in you) alone are more than I would admit to. The awkwardness of youth... funny how as we get older we actually reflect back on those days with fond memories. I guess in many ways they are... just the survival alone of those days are more than many have experienced since. But the reality of those years (if one really thinks back) shaped & molded us to the "Who" that we have become. I have often wondered what happened to so many of those I remember from youth. The popular as well as the not very popular, and especially the ones that were thought of as strange, weird or just plain not what many thought of as the norm of the times. Silently I have kept track of so many... papers, birth, marriage, divorce & even death records... After all (many think they lived in a time that had impact on the whole of society) and maybe because I am from a generation that really can't 100% consider themselves "Baby Boomers" or even "Generation X"... we were the in-betweens, born in the 60's but not really a part of that era (unless one feels they were totally in-tune to the world at the age of maybe 8 or 9) we hit the "Disco Era" (for most of us old enou...Expand for more
gh to maybe drive our parents car but still too young to legally drink unless of course we crossed into other states) By the time "Punk" rolled around we were enjoying it but through our own kids or younger brothers/sisters. But our age group was always (at least in my thinking) on the in between... But wow... think about that in-between) I can remember the times of girls being forced to take Home-EC in Lower Paxton while the guys actually got to enjoy Shop!!!! In saying that... I can also remember the money some of us girls made by sewing that extra material into the guys' jeans to give them that "serious" bell that was all the rage when we were in school.... Curly perms, big hair, blue eye shadow... lol the list goes on.... I am curious though if I am the only one that has these thoughts? I really would love to know what happened to so many of the people (male & female) popular & not so popular!!! I can look back on my life until now and know that even the dumbest choices I have made have been the ones that I needed to make for myself and the example I need to make. I really don't care if it made me popular or not.... In reality... we all eventually conclude that when we are gone... we are gone... what are we remembered for? What will be loved for.
