Theresa's Story
Life
Dear Classmates,
I've been back for several of the STA reunions, and will probably
be there for the 50th in October.
I married Dick Goble in December, 1956. We've have 6 daughters, after loosing our first two children. While my husband worked for Allied Chemical Corp. We moved around alot; Owensville, Mo, Boulder, CO, Harrisburg, IL, Prinston, W VA, Bel Air, MD, and finally Manaassas, VA.
My interests haven't changed a lot from St. Teresa's; I have sung in Church Choirs almost everywhere we've lived and I have honed my sewing skills to an amazing degree; with 6 daughters how could I do otherwise? We've built 5 houses and I always made all the drapes, etc. and I made all the girls clothing - from first Easter outfit to bridal and bridesmaid gowns, as well as a substancial wardrobe of "leasure suits" for Dick. I still enjoy and do most of the crafts I learned from Sister Marion. I learned enough about Ceramics to enjoy doing them for several years and taught classes to Girl Scout troops in Maryland. My daughters were very active in Scouting, most into High School, and I've done about every job GSUSA has to offer for 25 years. In fact, I'm known in 5
differant Councils as the ...Expand for more
"late, lost, Mrs. Goble." I also enjoy traveling, photography, reading, and my computer; I'm most proud of a family cookbook and a book of Christmas letters from 1980 to 2004 I've put together for my family. I've also enjoyed working with a classmate, Tom Mc Tigue, on two occasions to put together the 45th and 50th Class Reunions for St. Joseph's School and am looking forward to to doing the 55th Reunion in 2006.
Now that Dick is retired and we have 17 grandchildren between 5 and 21 years of age, we enjoy traveling to visit them; only one
lives here in Manassas. We're both very active in the Knights of Columbus. The parish we belong to here in Manassas is the largest in the State of Virginia, having over 5000 families. Dick and I have sung in the Adult Mixed Choir for 18 years, and right now are
prepairing to tape music for 2 TV Massas for shut-ins from the Cript of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. We have done this several times before, and last time it was
broadcasts in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. So, watch out - you may be seeing us on your local TV station in a month or so.
Looking forward to seeing all of you in October.
