Theresa's Story
I didn't exactly graduate in '71. I went two weeks of the senior year then like a dummy, quit school. But I was in the same class with you all through high school at Nederland. My best friend was Janice Dixon (Yancey). You may remember her before you would me. I was shy and quiet in school. She was the talker and more outgoing. She still lives in Nederland and we stay in touch by email.
I got married (to Oscar Copeland) the summer of my junior year. We settled in the east Texas town of Henderson where all of my relatives live. We have a son, Michael (37), a daughter, Misheala (29). Michael is divorced and has 3 daughters, Cassie Lynn, age 12 and Carlie Gale, age 8, and the baby, Caylie Jeanette, 4 yea...Expand for more

Misheala is engaged to be married. She is a registered nurse at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She has a son, Aiden, age 4, and a daughter, Alexa, 2 years. She's currently pregnant with her 3rd child due in July.
In 1976 I received my GED and went to Kilgore College and majored in Accounting. I have worked off and on all during our marriage, and hopefully I won't have to return to work. I keep the grandkids for Misheala, so that takes up most of my time along with my church work.
Oscar died of service related lung cancer from when he served in Viet Nam. This July (2010) will be a year since he's been gone. He lived 2 years after being diagnosed. The whole family misses him. I miss him more.
