Dawn,
This my last sunrise.
An ocean of time lies before me,
The cool sea breeze caresses my face.
The gulls circling above me.
Their Harping crys... the last stroke of a grand clock.
It is here I sit in contemplation.
Giving thought to what once was.
My outstretched hands clutch franticly at what remains,
The sands of time slip though my fingers with a practiced ease.
Slowly the sun draws across the horizon,
Desperately I close my hand attempting to keep what little remains.
A rush of sand,
And time skips a full beat.
As the sun sets, the waves draw closer,
Stealing the sand gathered beneath me.
Soon the light sh...Expand for more
all fade,
Hiding forever behind the sea.
Opening my hand to glimpse that which is left,
I stare in wonder, as the winds take what is mine no more.
Lying amidst the sand,
The waves crash upon me.
Gently,
They carry me off, with the setting of the sun.
It is Dusk,
The end of my day.
