Thomas L.'s Story
LIFE
2007 was a mournful year. 2008 was a year to reflect and learn. I just wish I knew years before what I know now. Life has been good in 2009.
SCHOOL
In writing this bio, I will just group all schools together and say on a serious note that the educator that inspired me the most was Coach Cooper, because he gave me the blue prints to what I want to do in life! And the most thoughtful and helpful educator that took an interest in where I continued my education after MSC, Dr. Debra Vaughn, I owe you a lot in getting me the opportunity to succeed at SOSU! And to Coach Baxter for giving me the opportunity to work on the team, I am extremely grateful to you for that chance. If I had a chance to experience this part of my life again, I would.
On the fun side, I can't forget about a cute red-headed SGA Secretary. I will always regret not getting to know her a bit more! The happiest time was serving as a student senator spring 03 to spring 04 and president of the Native American COuncil 03-04, SOSU Democratic Party 03-04, the football team 03 and 04.
COLLEGE
College life was and probably will be the most and best memoriable time of my life. It was my classmates I got a chance to know and the staff that I got a chance to work with that made Southeastern Oklahoma State Univeristy and Murray State College at AHEC fun. 2004 was the best year for me at SOSU. The greatest highlight of the time was was going to B...Expand for more
oston, MA to the Democratic National Convention Academic Seminar and touring historic Boston! Heck, I even got a chance to see Hillary Clinton speak in person! To those that helped me get there, I will always be grateful to you, especially to Ms Delashaw and CK! The second best highlight was being part of the SOSU football team and becoming Lonestar Conference Champions of the North Division! To the guys that played and coached the game, thanks for the memories! I am greatful to have met 2 special guys at SOSU, JT and Drew. JT for being JT and Drew for his sacrifice as QB and the rest of the team that made that year a special year at SOSU (04)! And the division ring to show for it! And especially to Ruth for being a good friend to hang out with.
WORK
My current work is Assistant Ardmore Middle School Softball Coach for the fall 2009 season and substitute teaching. The best jobs I have had was working on my college campuses, which was very beneficial to me in the field of employment I wish to pursue. So far the places and people I have worked with have led to opportunities for me to further my education and enhance my experience in the career I have chosen. I hope someday to be an educator/coach, then into an administrator's position, maybe into a school board position. So many opportunities and choices, but a least they're in the field I have chosen to work in and I see no other place I would rather be!
