Tom's Story
My wife Birgit and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary in August 2018. We have three children; our son Farzad and his daughter Monroe (GRAND DAUGHTER!!!) who will be 5 this year. Our daughters; Shannon graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Education back in 2009 lives and works here in Florida., Jennifer who graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2013 with degrees in Psychology, and Criminal Justice lives and works out in Las Vegas near her brother.. That means the kids are all right and Birgit and I can spoil ourselves a little now. As for me; I retired from the Army after 22 years of service back in 2004. I am a combat veteran of South West Asia, and the Middle East, and I served 4 tours of duty in Europe, 1 tour of duty in the Pacific, and tours in the US. My job in the Army was a Reconnaissance Specialist, and the Army kept us moving; Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, California, Texas, Kansas, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait have all been called home or places I've been deployed to. My interests outside of my family are sports; travelling in Europe, 80's ...Expand for more
rock music, work outs at the local gym and the outdoors. When I retired from the Army I went to work for the Raydon Corporation in Daytona Beach as a Senior Training Specialist. I travelled around the country to various military bases training the next generation of American warriors on combat tactics using virtual reality simulators. In 2009 I accepted a position with Calibre Systems Inc. as a Counter IED Analyst, and Team Lead operating a training site at Camp Blanding, Florida. My team, and I trained military units on Counter IED doctrine, and tactics, and counter measures. In August 2011 I became Calibre Systems Senior Program Analyst, and Project Manager. I managed a number of sub contracting firms working on our Hawaii projects, and work the business development side of things for future endeavors. I was permitted to work from an office in my home which was wonderful after a lifetime of travelling. Now considering myself to be retired, I spend my time now at the gym, at the beach with my wife; and visiting with our children, and grand daughter. Hoping the Class of 1981 is doing well, happy, an healthy.
