Thomas's Story
Life
Majored in Chinese at UChicago; played two years of varsity soccer, got cut and switched to rugby. Met my future wife, Rowena Saura. Studied international affairs at Columbia, worked for a year as a paralegal and then joined the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer.
Rowena and I have two boys, Evan (14) and Gareth (10). For the past 2 years, we've lived in Budapest, Hungary. Besides working, I coach youth soccer and baseball. My wife volunteers at the National Arts Museum training docents. ...Expand for more
I'm bald (no surprise to any of you who knew my dad or saw my receding hairline during college) and haven't been completely clean-shaven since high school.
When we're not overseas, home is Northern Virginia just outside of Washington. My brother John (class of '91) and his family live in Natick, but nobody else from my family has stayed in the Boston area. I still like to get back to New England whenever I can; breakfast at the Maugus restaurant is an especially nostalgic experience whenever I can manage it.
