Tim's Story

Life I have always been an open minded, person who enjoys a good laugh and never takes anything too seriously. We moved around a fair bit when I was young so I went to a number of schools and met lots of different people. I joined the Canadian Forces and attended Royal Roads Military College in Victoria and Royal Military College, in Kingston, ON. After about 16 years in different ships and shore drafts I was posted to Canada's National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa, where I worked for the second half of my military career before retiring in 2006. I then worked for CGI Systems Integration and Management Consultants Inc in Ottawa for just under 4 years doing business development and as a delivery manager. In November 2010 I embarked on career # 3 as an independent consultant. School I went to a number of schools, including Clark Rutherford in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia, Margaret Jenkins and View Royal Elementary in Victoria, BC, Bell's Corners Public, Greenbank and Bell High in west end Ottawa and Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I was always involved in school sports and played soccer, hockey, softball, golf and lacrosse. I even played basketball one year but wasn't very good at it! College I attended Royal Roads Military College 1972 - 74 when it was still a two year college and we had to go to Royal Military College Kingston to graduate. In the summer of 1974 I drove cross country to Kingston in my old beat up 1963 Pontiac for third year. I was graduated in 1976 with a BA in Economics and Commerce and after a summer French language course in St Jean Quebec, I headed west to start my career in the Canadian Navy. Workplace I have been employed in various positions in the Canadian Navy and on the staff in National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa. I worked in Transport Canada on Marine Security from Jun 2003 to April 2004 and then returned to defence headquarters. I was the Detachment Commander of the Joint Information and Intelligence Fusion Capability in 2004/5 and then the Project Director of the CF Command and Control Systems projects until I retired from the Forces in 2006. I then worked for three years for a large IT company and recently (July 2010) started a new career as an independent consultant. Military BIOGRAPHY - Commander T.H.
