All of those who are in Christ have been anointed by God for service (1 John 2:27) and nobody in the church is to be considered beyond reproach. John also says in 1 John 4:1-3, not to believe all spirits, but "test" all spirits because not every spirit is of God. The Greek word for test is a welder's term. It means to throughly inspect an alloy for impurities, because, even though it may appear to be pure, there can be hidden inpurities beneath the surface, that will rise when tested by fire. Keep in mind, this was written by the disiple Jesus loved, some 55 years after our Lord asended into heaven. John did not claim to have any special anointing to the churches he wrote to that the Lord had not given to each of them who were truly in Christ."
