Tim's Story
OK, after Potomac I was a mechanic at Pohanka Oldsmobile for several years until I got bored. I joined the Air Force to work on airplanes but didn't like the rigid structure. Then the first personal computers arrived.
I bought an Atari and taught myself how to program which led to a job working and eventually managing a software store. There I met reps from all the big software publishers and was offered a job as a trainer for Computer Associates. After a few years of that I was made a Product Manager and moved to Silicon Valley.
Later I went to work for Hewlett Packard where I met CEOs of many Fortune 500 companies. I toured the country giving keynote speeches with a VP of HP. My drama experience at Potomac made it easy to give presentations to crowds of up to 3,000 p...Expand for more
eople. I'm listed in the acknowledgments of 3 books, I've been interviewed by every major computer magazine, and even appeared on Japanese television. I was lucky enough to travel all over the USA, Canada, and even England and Paris.
Now I live a quiet life in Hampton Roads Virginia consulting, programming, and developing web sites. Throughout it all, my interest in fast cars has continued. I've restored several old Mustangs but mainly focus on old Porsches. I really enjoy getting out on a road race course and having some fun.
I'm also still into music and play my guitar when I can. I've got friends in the local music scene and was just included in the acknowledgments of one's new CD. Maybe I'll start practicing again and do some open mic nights. Who knows what's next.
