Timothy's Story

I have been married for 19 years to a great, smart, and sexy woman. She is an administrator at a hospital, working in the labor and delivery department. She also has experience working Neonatal Intensive Care from when we lived in Iowa City. We have 3 kids. William is 17 and wants to get his Ph.D. in linguistics. Katie is 14 and wants to get her Ph.D. in math. Bryan is 12 and wants to get his Master's degree in video gaming. I have lived in Mexico, Texas, and Florida. I graduated from Iowa with a Ph.D. in education. I now teach reading methods and classes in second-language acquisition at The Ohio State University at Lima. I get back to the Quad Cities now and again to see family and friends. Whenever I go to Moline I have to look up my good friend Tim Deneve. Tim keeps me informed about who is doing what, and to whom. We'll sit around quaffing a few beers, listening to music, and watching Sponge Bob. I may go to the next reunion, but I thought the only one I attended was not as much fun as I had anticipated. Nonetheless, it was fun to see some people I hadn't seen since '76, such as Brian and Vikki Holst (nice people), David Trevor (brilliant and a nice guy), Bud Rasso (good memories of getting small in the parking lot when we were in high school) Tim Hoyt (still crazy after all these years), Ray Mendoza (his mom was my Spanish teacher and still one of the best teachers I have had), Jeff Cousins (one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet), Harlan Waugh (witty as hell), and Tim Deneve, of course. I guess I had a good time but was disappointed tha...Expand for more
t there were some people absent (Randy Anderson, Joe and Albert Arrington, Dino Bagatelas, Phil Bebber, Chris Beiderbecke, Rey Cavazos, Bill Cork, Ted Czupka, Ed Davis, Rick Garman, Mark Hanson, Scott Hoffman, Jose Lao, Kevin McCarthy, Becky and Chuck Miller, Judy Petersen, Mike Picco, George Prather, Tammy Ramirez, Tim Scritchfield, Jeff Shelton, Mark Toline, Hector Trejo, Gary White, and Dave Williamson. Maybe we should have an alternative reunion. Anyway, if you're on this list, please contact me. School I was a bit wild in high school. There were many people I wish I had spent more time with. I thought that my partying ways would get them in trouble, so I tended to stick with other people that partied as much as I did. I learned that there is more to life than that. If I had to do it over again I would have tried to be a friend to those who had made a friendly gesture to me. Also, I would tell my teachers that made an impression on me how much I appreciated their influence. My Spanish teacher, Mrs. Mendoza, inspired me to become an educator. She, therefore, literally changed my life. As teacher and professor, I often wonder what type of impact I have made on my students. That, plus all the money we educators make, is what keeps me going every day. In the area of romance, I would've chosen differently when it comes to a girlfriend. On the other hand, I wonder what my life would have been if I had done things differently. I am happy with my family, but I wish I could go back and do things differently and have the same life I have now.
