Tina's Story
Life
Since High School I have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Illinois. I am currently working at the university and living in Farmer City(near Clinton). I married Kris Knox (MTZ class of 86) in September of 1992. Our daughter, Victoria was born in May of 1999. I'm currently working towards my Masters in Higher Education.
Workplace
After college, I spent 8 1/2 years working as a technician in a microbial research lab. I learned so much from this job and met lots of interesting people, but I didn't find it very rewarding.

crobiology teaching lab at the University of Illinois. I work along side a lecturer to set up and edit a laboratory course that is taken by Junior and Senior biology majors. This job has allowed me lots of flexibility and I have really enjoyed having interaction with the students.
I have been doing part time work as an academic advisor off and on for the last year and have found that extremely rewarding as well. Because of my growing interest in working closely with students I have started taking graduate classes in education. I hope to enter a Masters program in education in the fall of 2005.
My long term goal is to be in charge of a Microbiology lab class at the University where I give the lectures as well as coordinate the lab.
