Tobi's Story

Life It has been a long time, guys! Wow, who would have guessed that we would turn into responsible adults that contribute in a positive way to our communities. I got off to a bumpy start but I am happy to say "I made it!". After graduation, I went to university and finished in 1 year...well finished going. I thought that I would take some time off, earn some partying money and go back. Yeah, right! After my son was born, I decided to go to college and study accounting. I did complete a certificate there and worked for a couple of small companies (including my own), before joining the McCain group. I have been there for 10 years now and work in the Corporate Accounting department preparing the consolidated financial statements. Yes, it is as exciting as it sounds. I am also involved in writing currency transalation logic for our central consolidation database. This keeps me on my toes! I can tell you more about CTA than any normal person needs to know. I have been happily married for four years to a wonderful local man I met 10 years ago. He graduated from Hartland. We own a home in Stickney...I know but at least it was never "mobile". I do have my standards. Actually, it is quite nice to live along the river in a very quite spot. Our three dogs, (yes, t...Expand for more
hree), have plenty of space to play and we have taken up gardening. Anyone want a zucchini? We have lots! My son is 15 years old now. He is taller than I am and reminds me every day just how old I really am. And how completely uncool! He is really into classic rock and plays guitar quite well. Funny how surprised he is to discover that I know the words to the music he plays. I bought him Pink Floyd "The Wall" and he learned two songs in 1 hour. His friends all got interested in learning guitar as well. I think it had something to do with the chick magnet factor, of guys with guitars. My son had that figured out a while ago. I am amazed at how unlike me my son is! He is not athletic at all...or competitive. I don't understand him at all. He is quite content to be at home with a couple of his friends, guitars and video games. At 15, he does not want to go out tearing around with a group of kids. Of course, I am not going to delude myself into thinking he is a perfect angel...he did just spend a year at high school. As for me personally, I have been working full-time and studying part-time for several years. I am now done the studying part and haven't decided what I am going to do to fill in the time! I have always wanted to take piano lessons...
