Tobias's Story
Since I was a child, I wanted to be an actor. By high school graduation I had many productions under my belt from school performances to community theater. I continued performing after high school and eventually attended the American Academy of Performing Arts in New York City. But life in New York is rough, so I returned home to Maine and finished college at USM as a Media Studies major. While there I interned at TV and radio stations. I juggled a full course load, a work study job, an internship, and a part time job. Needless to say, I was a little burned out when I graduated. at when I was without those things I was lost. It was then that I lost the innocence and naivety of youth. Because I'm stubborn and thickheaded, it took me a few years to reorient myself. I'm now facing life with a more realistic view. The acting dream is still there, but is tempered with experience. For the moment I work customer service at a travel company, while I try to figure my next move. About once a week I get together with friends. I'm fairly knowledgeable with computers and audio/visual technologies. I volunteer once a week at a local theater. And I was recently reminded by others that I still have a professional sounding speaking voice. Could consider voice work. Oh well, this is just a quick summary of my story, I'm interested in hearing some of yours.
