Todd's Story

I thought that I would give a more personal, and updated version of my life story, so those whom I want to re-connect with can have a better picture of me, and the things that have shaped my life up to this point. Current: First, I have been together with my wife Babette for the last 13 1/2 years. We met in Albuquerque, where I was working Field Service for a semiconductor equipment company. I was at a bar throwing darts where her and her workmates were having a few coctails. I got her business card from one of her friends, and the rest, as they say, is history. We have 2 awesome kids, both boys. Alec, who is 11 ( turns 12 in December ), and Hayden ( the ooops baby!!! ) who just turned 6. We currently live in North Carolina, but we are not planning on staying in that area. We will be there for a while however, at least until the end of this school year, perhaps the next. There are alot of factors that play into when we move from the area, and it is just too soon to be able to predict when. I have been working as an Equipment Engineer / Field Service Engineer in the semiconductor industry for 14 years now. Most of my experience has been in the Photolithography area, installing, sustaining and de-installing equipment at various wafer fabrication facilities around the world. For those who need an english version of what I do, I support the equipment that makes the microchips. Processors, memory, color filter arrays... that kind of stuff. I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and I think I am pretty good at it. This industry being as volitile as it is, and with the technology basically re-inventing itself every 18 months or so, we have had the opportunity to live all across the country. Past: I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years. My MOS was 2884, which was a Ground Radar Repairman. I was in 3rd Battalion 8th Marines for a couple of years, and then went to ELMACO, 2nd and 3rd Maintenance Battalions. After geting out of the infantry unit though, I spent more time playing on Battalion golf, soccer, volleyball and softball teams, than I did anything else. I enjoyed being in the Marines, although I have to admit that I was not the model marine. Attitudes,...Expand for more
youth, and to a certain extent, circumstance, made for a pretty rough road at times. I was also married for a brief time while in the Corps ( and for about 2 years after until all of the paperwork was signed ). I don't regret getting married. I do, however, regret the fact that I was too immature at the time to realize that I was not ready for it. We were lucky though that things ended well, at least as well as things could end I guess. Long time ago, and hindsight can be blinding sometimes. With that being said, I formed very close relationships with alot of people while in the Marine Corps, some of which I still hold today. But, there are a lot more people out there that I would like to get back in touch with, and share, well.... whatever!! Way Back: Calvert High and Largo High were my 2 high schools, with Northern High thrown in there from time to time due to father not being able to decide which house we were going to live at. I went to Calvert/Northern for the first 3 years, and Largo my senior year. I made some close friends at both, and would love to hear from any, and all of you. Personal: Dad is still in Virginia, married to Carla with whom he has been with for 20+ years. I have 2 step sisters from that marriage. I also had 2 step brothers from his second marriage. One died a few years back, to the shock of us all. My sister is married to my "brother from a different mother" Ron, and living in San Diego. One additional, little thing, is that I was diagnosed with Regressive/Remitting Multiple Sclerosis about 6 years ago. Other than a pretty bad first episode, where I went numb from the armpits down, resulting in some sclerosis, and a few other minor issues that seem to pop up from year to year, I have been quite healthy. I really don't have any physical or mental issues to speak of( the mental part is debatable!!!), and I am lucky that the MS is staying at bay. ( At least for the time being!! ) The medications seem to be doing their jobs. Anyway, I am looking to re-connecting with old friends, and have had the chance to do that a couple of times through this site. Drop me a line, and I will definitely get back with you.
