Todd's Story
Life
Hi!
I was a cop and a teacher, now I'm a computer geek.
I got three bachelors and 2 masters. I have two little boys that are smarter than me. I climbed all the 14er's in Colorado. Somehow, I managed to marry a wonderful woman, whom seems loves me 2. and Somehow she gets me,, and the older I get. the harder that seems to be. I still like to rock climb and fish, although, life seems to very busy. I seem to have a love hate relationship with cougars. You can see what happened to me when I got sideways with a puma. The cougar went after my boys and I was lucky enough just to get a scratch. The cougar was asking as nicely as she could that we get going. She never got near the boys,, they were mucking with her, They get that from their mother I have a white water raft and I would like to take old friends rafting,, before we all get too old. I have all the gear. I have been playin hockey now for 8 years, but I'm really getting beat up out there. Hey, my 2 sons and I rafted the Grand Canyon before the big water hit. I think I liked the canyon better in spring before the run-off. We own 23 acres in Fishtail, Montana. Don't go there enough. Who knows I may end up there. My oldest son John and I climbed the "Bastile" this summer, my dad used to climb it every summer. It was a passage of summer. This time he stayed at base, supported us. Now , I climb with my boys and my Dad is too old and he stays down at base. I will always miss climbing with him. My dad and my mom were there heroes of my life. i was lucky enough to have helped in the rescue of that family. We still ski and raft together. Life is great...Expand for more
, but it always seems to break my heart. Hey I'm always looking for people to climb with. Come on let's bag a 14er or just climb a rock. I have a white water raft and he can hit the big spring water take a great trip floating and talking about life. My newest hobby is to try and climb all the 14er's and ski 'em to the parking lot.,, I hope. I bagged Grey and Torries,, Long and Snowmass. I really would love to have some of the old gang climb with me
Life has been very kind. My boys have told me they like just swinging on the rope. Just like the song,, Life is but a dream
School
Ms. Debra Webster our humanities teacher, when I was a senior , really inspired me.
I had a friend, mentor and teacher, Steve Monfredo, Steve was killed mountain climbing , I still miss him. They put a plaque for him on Crested Butte. Coach Rush was a great person as was Don Buffo our sophmore football coach. Coach Able was our 9th grade long distance coach, Do any of you rememeber that he used to take us to the mountains to run? What a great guy. I remember running and listen to John Denver in Coach Able's car.
Say a prayer to Don Sphaun, he watches over the class of 80 from Westy. We lost him to cancer. Posted a pic with me and Dad and I riding the Mountain bikes in Moab. When we make the Colorado River from Island in the Sky we always swim in the Colorado River. This year dad rode the 20 miles , but he didn't swim. an you can tell his back was hurtin. Myboys and climbed Quandary Peak, the 14er near Breckenridge and skiied down, all went well, but we spent the night in Glenwood and swam our tired muscles in the hot springs
