tom's Story

After graduating from EOC in '67 i worked in Portland for a couple years. Then i went to Anaheim, Ca. to visit my brother Jim & got a job with Union Oil the next day. I also worked for Firestone Tire 10yrs. After that I was Manager of ARC Value Village Thrift for 21yrs, which included, "during the riots". We ended up staying in Calif for 40years. My wife was a school teacher. We were married 38 years until cancer changed things in 2/09. I moved to Lewiston, Idaho 8/2011 with my cat "goof". We always did alot of traveling even with our 100 hr work weeks? I kept my golf habits from the ol' golf team days in scho...Expand for more
ol. My dad (Wiley) used to work at the OK Barber Shop in LaGrande on Depot St. I used to have a black '58 Chevy 2-door hard-top that i drove to work in? I worked at Wendells Beeline for a long time. "yes, enough of this",,, see u all at the re-union!!! I always wanted to be a Park Ranger in Death Valley or a Cartoonist for Walt Disney when I grew up. My family & friends thought do something normal? As it turned out, "i still haven't grown up". MY HERO; after i was the victim of an armed robbery & my best friend was murdered a year later; IT WAS then that i realized MY DAD was my "HERO" and always will be!

today we took an EVEN MORE scenic drive from Wallowa to Enterprise, Oregon :-)
there wasn't any cars today, but we had some nice friends as we found a NEW route between Wallowa & Enterprise :-)
some of these sites actually seemed kinda unreal AND to be there by ourself was even MORE unreal... it puts a complete new meaning to the words "peaceful" & "beautiful" :-) :-)
it's a good thing i just got 2 ten pound bags of bird seeds for our Quails :-)
tom kemp's album, Untitled album
we took a drive up Big Fish Canyon tonite about 16+ miles & this is where we turned around :-)
Ok, Christmas Letters are mailed now.
i asked my brother Mark
about Big Fish Canyon Road, & naturally he had been up there of course :-( he said the road was good for 16miles & then it forks & then the road gets kinda bad, but a beautiful drive tho' :-)
on the way to Cyndis' Cousin Reunion last week, we saw this really neat lil' Church out in the country, so :-)
after the reunion in No.Calif, we took a drive thru the Redwoods & then along the So.Oregon Coast for 100miles & then East to Sisters,Oregon & Prineville,Oregon :-)
after "FORGETTING" to fill-up in Prineville,Oregon, it was a Welcome site to find a Service Station in Mitchell,Oregon :-) as the Ol' Pickup took 23.2 gallons of gas :-( Oh what a relief it was to find that place :-)
i found a "my sign"... hopefully someone else will know what it means also :-)
i saw this BIG Antelope 5-miles east of LaGrande, standing on the RR-Tracks about 2- weeks ago, after i had took mom her 3-lbs of Carmel Corn :-)
everytime we have a "sunset" i think of Sony in So.Dak. & i'm usually watching our Quails or Deer or just forget all together but sometimes :-)
Show & Shine in downtown Enterprise,Ore. today :-) this example "kinda" reminds me of my '58 Chevy i had while i was going to E.Oregon College in LaGrande :-)
the Show & Shine Car event attracted alot of really neat entries & this one definitely was one of them :-)
FINALLY :-) i have found a "post" that is NOT Political, is NOT Racial, and is NOT about economics... The little post on the right is JUST a picture of a POST :-)
yesterday we had rain in Enterprise, Oregon AND Sept.5th shows a little different view of the mountains :-)
the Sept.5th view of the Wallowa Mts is a "little" different than it was yesterday :-)
we saw Elk going to Buckhorn L.O. & coming back :-) there was 1-herd of 75-100 on the way home we stopped & listen to them bugel an' that was a fantastic time WITH brother Jim, Mark, nephew's Justin & Jeff, & sis 'n law Lau
