Life
Left Avoca on August 8 1955 on my way south for Army basic training at Fort Jackson SC. Then to Fort Gordon GA. From there I was assigned to the First Armored Division at Fort Polk La for the remaining 2 and 1/2 years of my enlistment. From there I returned to Avoca for a few months then went to Washington, D.C. where I was employed by the Federal government until my retirement in 1987. During the 1980s I and family lived in Hagerstown MD and Lancaster PA, from where I commutted to my DC employer. I retired in the Buffalo - Niagara Falls NY area, my wife's home town. he University of Maryland, College Park. My two sons and daughter and daughter-in-law migrated to western NY as well. I return home to Avoca for a few days twice each year staying with my sister in Wyoming PA. I have returned there during the past 49 years and have not once met any of my classmates from the Avoca HS 1955 graduating class; the one exception being Bob Warunek who worked in DC in the next Federal Building in which I worked. He is retired and living in Wilkes-Barre PA.
College
Joint major in Sociology and Radio, TV and Film. Attended the University of MD at College Park Campus.
