Tom's Story
I've been a Center Line guy forever. Hell, my kids graduated from Center Line. So did Barney Cronin's and I coached two of them in tennis.I guess Ruth White really got to me because I taught English there for 38 years.I only got into teaching English because it would give me summers to write novels, but I really got hooked on teaching and had a wonderful career. Sixty years later I finally finished my first novel, Escape to Baja. I enjoy the stories and wish more of you would write them. I wish we had another reunion; I ran the fiftieth but it was a lot of work and I'm waiting for...Expand for more
someone else to run the next. I'm busy with my next book, Why the Hell Don't You Ask a Teacher?, obviously about education. I live in Harrison Township but my kids and grandkids are scattered all over the country. Despite my checkered past, none of my grandkids has managed to reproduce, so I'm still not a you-know-what. I'm at the age where I've given up more activities than I still can manage, but I still do a lot of sailing, reading, writing, and listening to music. What else is there? Oh yeah, I haven't given that up yet. So write your story and sound foolish like I did. Tom
