Tom's Story
School
I can't understand why I got such bad grades in Bain? Oh yea, I was in div. 7T...the worst bunch to ever be put together in one class. Lets start with the ring leader. Fifteen years old and loving Ozzy. Vinny Vose the loudest farter and burper I ever met. He could fake fart off of every part of his body including his eye socket. A skill that I'm sure got him very far in life. The 7T's were the worst bunch of bully, ballbusting, out of control kids you could ever imagine. No two students were ever placed in the same class again. An interschool system conspiracy no doubt! The class was compiled of the best of the worst...
Me, Al Loffredo, Pete McMaster, Lonnie Marzzily, Mark Marabello, Greg McDougal, Matt Pollosy AKA. Bowl, and of course Vinny V. There were oters that I can't remember right now, and as for the girls....Ha! by the end of the year they all transfered out of the 7T's. That was the year I pulled off the greatest come back in the history of the school. I went from straight F's 3, 3's to straight A 1, 1's a...Expand for more
feat that earned me most improved student award and is still talked about today in the guidence cousolor's office to students who feel that the teacher is out to get them. They can't use that excuse any more. Sorry guys!
I was the master of just doing enough to get by so I could wrestle. From that point on I never saw straight A's again. :-(... I sometimes wonder what ever happened to Olga O'Brien?
Live and learn.
Now on to High school. Cranston East was Great. My only goal there was to make people laugh. I spent a great deal of time in Mr. Mathews office because of it. Detention and Suspention were my middle names. The only thing I really focused on was wrestling. That was a year round sport for me. I traveled with the jr. National team and won state, NewEngland and regional titles in Greco Roman and Freestyle. I would do so many things different if I had to do it all over again but I was on a vision quest trying to find my place in the circle. I will never forget the times I had at Cranston East.
