Tom's Story
Life
Contact me on Facebook. I am in the Kitchener network. Currently living in Guelph, Ontario, just moved in August. A return to Peterborough to live and work did not work out as planned. Alana(Harnett) of PEterborough and I have two beautiful children, ages 3 and 1 and are enjoying the hullaballoo that is involved in raising children is this day and age. Who knew it would be so challenging and so rewarding? Oh yeah, that's what our parents say now that we have moved out and had kids of our own. Their's Grandma sniggering in the corner.
Not much of a career to speak of, just working enough to pay the bills so that I can spend as much time with my young family as I can. Yes, even my wife is young. She had to be in order to be at my maturity level. She is a Peterborough gal, and went to St. Peters. If you remember, I liked the girls who went to St. Peter's when I was in high school. Where are you Angela Nichols?
Remember all of the people who impressed you in high school? I want to know what they are doing now. What is Janice Arsenault doing single in New Brunswick. If only Todd and her had hooked up. Yeah, Todd Post was and still is my brother. He is married ...Expand for more
with three kids, one just 4 months old. It is tough having kids when you are old and decrepit. No, wait. It is kids that make you old and decrepit. Yeah, that sounds right.
Have some good friends in Guelph that have kids in the same age ranges, so we are glad to be moving back, and are more that a little shocked at the provincialism that seems to plague Peterborough due to it's isolation from larger urban centers. Who knew that 40 minutes of driving time could produce such an astounding lack of progress.
Anyway, when I become rich, I will have a summer home here, or maybe a cottage on one of the big lakes and people can come and gawk in amazement at my new found celebrity.
Will always remember my high school years very fondly. Pete Twist and Tracey Billings, Deb Lace, Tom Crook, Kelly Kerr, Cindy Wakeford. Remember telling Cindy in Grade 11 biology, when she asked what I was going to do with my life, I told her I was going to play Football. What a maroon.
Just one more thing before I go. My last year book had an unsigned statement in it that goes something like this. Luck, you don't need any luck, blah blah blah. Who wrote it? I have been dying to know since 1983.
