Thom's Story
Here we are- 38 years later. Does anyone really read these things? Don't we have real lives?
But just in case anyone really cares! After high school I joined the Air Force. Got married, went to college to study Engineering and hoped to fly in the AF. But when the war ended there was little need for AF pilots. So I became a Service/Sales Engineer in Medical X-Ray for the next 20 yrs.. Somewhere along the way I had 2 wonderful kids and got a divorce after almost 12 yrs. Shortly afterwards I met the love of my life and am about to celebrate 24 yrs of marriage to my wife. Live has been, at the very least, exciting. Went from being a field engineer to Sales (the dark side for an engineer) to Manager of Manufacturing to software and web technology sales to Real Estate ...Expand for more
sales. All the time wishing I had been an architect. So I went back to school to study design and entered residential design and construction. Imagine that- at my age I can re-invent myself. But then I did have a roll model. My wife decided to return to school and start a need career. It was her 3rd degree and every now and then she teases she's ready for another. We moved to the mid-west in 1989 and have lived in the Chicago area since. It is now home and I love it here. My son lives nearby and my daughter lives in Santa Rosa, CA in the middle of a vineyard with her husband.
Hobbies aplenty- still a fascination with cars (live to restore/hotrod them) remodel our home, bicycle, snorkel and travel to faraway places.
