My Job
RETIRED. Was lots of responsibility in many different areas. Each day is a new experience.
My Health
2004 - Had a 4 day heart attack followed by congestive heart failure. Have some damage but it's been a few years and I am still alive.
My Life
2005 - "Katrina" came for a visit. I live in Metairie which is a suburb of New Orleans. I had a little water, some small damage, and 19 days without power. Not much of a problem since I work for the utility company I spent most of the time trying to restore power to the work area and did not get much time to do anything else. the lack of people, street lights, power, telephone, water and sewage. Even though post cardiac my diet changed to what was canned and available.
2008 - "Gustav" decided to visit. My girlfriend convinced me to evacuate. I evacuate to Lafayette. The eye of Gustav came over Lafayette. I went back to New Orleans. I had utilities there at least. I did spend a lot of time at work restoring power to it.
2012 - "Isaac" came for a visit. It was a category 1 but he decided to stay for a while. The stationary to slow movement caused more wind damage than Katrina. I lost power for about 36 hours, this is being written at week 1 and there are still a lot of people without power.
