Tommy's Story
Life
I have been married to my beautiful and loving wife Pam since 1989. I retired in 1998 from BellSouth Telecommunications after twenty-six years working in various positions (Technician, Programmer, IT-Project Manager, Engineering Instructor and IT-Manager).
Pam and I moved to Sarasota, FL in April 2004 from Marietta, GA. Atlanta was just too crazy with crime, air pollution, traffic, etc. So in late 2001 we rediscovered Sarasota and started construction on our dream home.
My favorite hobby and my second love is owning and flying airplanes. I have owned four airplanes over the last thirty years and I am currently looking for number five. My favorite places to fly are Chicago and the Bahama Out Islands.
Now that I am retired I often reflect back on old friends and especially people that were positive influences in my life. I cherish the day...Expand for more
s of my youth, but would not want to relive them. However, I do miss the people! So I hope our paths will once again cross.
School
Needless to say I was NOT a good student in high school! Only after dropping out of high school; getting my GED; spending three years in the military and two years in College was I able to get my act together. Even though my education was minimal I did well in the business world and retired at age 48.
Military
Best thing that ever happened to me was spending three years in the military. It made me more disciplined and provided the education and job experience I needed in civilian life. Thank you Uncle Sam!
